But the D50 did lows a bit better, not surprisingly (less flubby, more focus).There is a sensation of air/movement occurring (especially in the 2nd mode) and the Golden has significantly more tonal range. In the 1st mode, it captures some of that faster/snappier VH plate reverb effect. This is exactly my one main takeaway from the Golden Reverberator. The Custom is HSS, with a DSV in the bridge and V60LP's neck and middle. The Pro is SSS V60LP's. The Custom's bridge bucker is wired to a push pull pot that puts the pickup in parallel rather than series. I end up using the parallel bridge pickup a LOT. Nice comparison. The difference of real single coil and humbucker + EQ is quite apparent, but the answer to the final question - is just one type of pickups/guitar is sufficient is quite personal choice, though. What you are trying to do is to compensate for differences single coil vs humbucker by tweaking your EQ.
