May 9, 2021 · When I saw the initial pics, I noticed the condenser & coil config were identical to mine in a 1986 318 w/B43G. The later pics confirmed yours as a 1983 318 B43G machine. So, I have a 1986 B43G configured the same (with the newer replacement coil and external condenser). 318 p218 no spark during crank. I picked up a low hour (401) 318. It does not have spark during crank, but as you let the key spring back to run it will fire. If you play with it, it will eventually catch and run indefinitely. I tried a known good switch I had and got the same result. I have the wiring schematic my local dealer printed for me.My 318 was running fine until I shut it off the other day and then when I tried to start it again, no spark to plugs. What happened? I checked the coil and it seems to have good resistance. Are there points on this Onan "P" series or is it electronic? (1988, 318 model).
