If the touch screen has failed, (and it is VERY common) no amount of resets -hard, soft or otherwise will fix it. You'll need to replace the touch screen. It's most likely the root cause of the AC issue, or a faulty interconnect, -if you're lucky. Check all CUE-related fuses first.
