Okay, about the lag, I have some suggestion that may help you. First, you can try to turn off the Vsync via the config in the "storage" directory in the Starbound folder. The file name is "starbound.config." Open it with a notepad.

The drop of extra seeds from harvest has been nerfed severely, so if you want a very large farm, you have to hunt for the seeds. It also takes effort to plant & harvest crops. You also have to WAIT for them to grow in different stages. Currency is a simple gate to vehicles, and a minor inconvenience to builders.

Sapling icon always shows you the material it's gonna drop. If it's split and looks like a merged icon between 2, it means it has a chance of dropping both. So much faster.
