Jul 11, 2017 · Rumor has it that the extra powder in +p doesn't have enough time to fully burn in the short barrels and therefore is a waste. its not wasted. the +P will crony higher. the higher pressure stuff is only slightly higher so the recoil/terminals debate rages on. im only speaking of HST 124gr. here.

It depends on your barrel length. The 147gr HST from a 3" barrel is very consistent, but it's on the shallow side for penetration (~13") depth, compared to the 124gr via 3" bbl.
