The Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company was founded in 1888 in Kokomo, Indiana, and continues to operate today. There was a recent post over in the identification section about Peltier "Bruisers" so I thought I'd put together a few photos to help with identification and possibly generate some discussion on this type of Peltier Marble. This has the inner/outer composition of a beautiful green family type probably being an earlier type of a possible NLR. When Peltier played with this (green) color, you may find MANY shades and concentrations of this in lots of family types. Chuck G---.The base color is a slight mixture of red and brown, looks red but a brown cast to it resembling motor oil. This example is another (red/brown) that does fit into the other red based family types. A variant (off shoot) of the red based Peltiers. A finding i have came upon all these years looking for examples of the (RED) based marbles.

This is a crazy busy marble. It has a single seam and measures 3/4.iI'm thinkingit is potentially an old Peltier red/orange Miller swirl Zebra.Always look at the pattern and cut lines as well as surface attributes found on Mexican fast made marbles. Old Peltier marbles are perfect surfaces lacking the irregular surface and cold rolls of a normal Vacor. Out of a bag of 50, one is lucky to find 5 perfect examples lacking surface imperfections. I found some marbles at an estate sale in Plainfield, IL, less than an hour from Ottawa where Peltier made marbles. These marbles were mixed into some other newer marbles that I found in various placed. I took what may be the best marbles and placed them together as seen in the images. Rainbos can be found in near infinite color combinations. Peltier marbles can be found in a range of sizes, from 1/2" peewee to 1"The 2 in front are just over 5/8 and the other two are just under. Also note that the Clear Rainbos wont typically dive all the way into the core/matrix of the marble whereas the Cocktails ...Vacor vs Peltier is the question--Peltier imho. Check the dark side for any AV or aventurine which will show up as little sparkles as you move the marble under direct light.
