Browning Patent was in 1915 And that was basically the Remington Model 17 with a few changes. Model 17 was only available in 20 gauge.As long as your m37's serial number is above 855,000 it will fit. If your 37 is 2 3/4" only, you can still use the 87 barrel but only with 2 3/4" shells. Ithaca will not give any advice on either m87's or pre-bankruptcy m37's over the phone.
