Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear.

I have a 6-speed automatic transmission. The transmission went to 4th and skidded the tires significant enough to create smoke from the tires. Downshifting from 6th to 4th at 65 (or even 75+) mph shouldn't cause the tires to lock up. P0882 and truck stuck in 4th means you are not getting 12V power from the Trans Relay (in the Totally Integrated Power Module [TIPM]) to the trans. The PCM sends a signal (at startup) to tell the Trans Relay to close, which then feeds 12V power to the trans. Might be best to have your dealer diagnose.
