Maya is the absolute queen of tanking/healing/crowd control. With my main build, Phaselock has a 5.4 second cooldown, and if you Phaselock, you win. Green tree is her utility tree, Ward is top tier skill at tier 1 of the tree, a bit further down you have Converge which is a must in just about any Maya build. Further down you have Quicken which ...
Action skill is a turret which can deal huge amounts of damage or grant shield/ammo. Excels at extended fights or fights in narrow rooms. He is literally a walking tank if played with the rough rider and the skill crisis management. Personal rating: Probably one of the best characters for playing solo. I try to stay away from the skills that cause stuff around you to happen like Blight Phoenix because I tend to always kill the last enemy and stuff like that triggers a barrel and kills me with no one near for FFYL. SMGs are really good with these builds. Other than that I'd suggest looking up Derchlands maya builds.

At a bare minimum you need to spec into ruin since slag is a necessity for UVHM. Terramorphus is absolutely possible for solo maya. Strategize farming for some good SMGs (bitch, sand hawk, etc). Honestly most of my advice would come from Dashis guide so just read through that. Don't fight the guy until your level 50, as that's the recommended mission level. If you can, try to get the help of a good Zer0 player. Zer0 if used correctly, can kill this boss in a single shot. Hyperius is a raid boss, so they're not designed to be solo'd against normally.
