Dec 11, 2020 · Park sensor problem. I have a 2018 Acadia All Terrain, V6 with 30K miles. On an increasingly intermittent occurrence the Park setting is not being recognized (by the computer??). My console displays P and my dash board indicates P but when I turn the engine off the system says I still have to shift into park and a warning tone starts beeping.

I have a 2017 Acadia, purchased new July 2017. 21k miles on it now. The shift to park message just started 3 weeks ago (November 2018 ) and learned more by reading this forum. Before reading this forum, I did notice on my Acadia that the P on the center console and the P on the dash both indicate "P", but the message on the screen still appeared.Occasionally, the “shift to park” issue can be temporarily resolved by wiggling the shifter lever and changing the transmission positions a few times. However, for a more permanent solution, follow the steps below: 1.
