This by no means answers all your questions, but this is my opinion on the wood versus plastic debate. Plastic is easy to maintain and strong. Also it looks good on a battle rifle like an AR and its cheap. Wood is less durable, scratches more easily, cracks and swells, and is expensive.The Izzy HB set will fit, but you will need to get the butt plate and hardware for it as none of the stuff on the SAW stock will interchange except the recoil spring tube nut and the tang screw. Either a Type B or Type C stock will work for you. Lower receiver has a pin to prevent moving a semi selector to the full auto position.
