I have to believe this is a bug. Or they have purposely gutted the ship salvaging lifestyle, so you only can find one or two in any given star system. If this occurs (the anomaly sphere at a crash site), you can leverage another "bug-like" feature if you drop a signal scanner and detect "Nearby Structures." It will detect another crash site.
