Unless you're building in a cave, Metal is superior to Tek structures. The Shield Generator is "Decent" if you can have a good "Hardpoint", and the Tek Doors provide decent utility (No one is going to do a boss run in a raid to blow doors). However building structures out of the material is pretty bad.

If you just run up to that door not a single turret will shoot meaning the whole thing gets dropped in under 30 seconds. When planting them I used canteens to fill up the crop plots and the plants took a few hours to raise. So far so good, however some plants seem to have died shortly after or mid way through growing.Use turret mode Goes over and can augment the limited turrets no bullets needed. Con is you have to still feed then meat and they can be a little squishy/buggy. Mine on aggressive tend to pull more stuff to the base then drive it away.
