You would be amazed if you took a small scale and weighed various 8 oz sinkers. Ones made with alloy might only go 6 ozs. PVC bibs while extremly water proof offer little or no insulation and in fact can contain the cold, also they don't breath if it somewhat warm out but is raining or you want to wear them on a rough day.

For the price that you paid for the cover, I would ask the manufacturer of the cover what will remove the color from your boat's finish.
