Once you get it apart and put it back together once, you know it for life. The 1911 is a very simple pistol to take down and put together. Just takes a little patients and research.

The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. I find it very helpful to polish the chamber on 22 rimfires. I use Flitz on a barrel mop on a short cleaning rod attached to a hand drill. I also changed the hammer spring on my 1911 pistol frames. The factory hammer spring is 23 pounds. I use Wolff 18 pound hammer spring with my AA standard 1911 kit.
