It is also felt in steering wheel. it is not a loud noise and not felt hard in steering wheel. also felt when backing out of driveway.for the clunk noise i woul definatly look at either the sway bar links or the bushings. Take a pry bar to the sway bar and look for play in the link ends. if you find none then replace the bushings on the sub-frame. ive seen lots of both issues. if the steering is sloppy check the tie rods and ball joints.
