New transfer cases run about $1700 to $2400 from GM and that is just the part. Maybe 4 hours labor (just a guess). Around $3000.00 give or take. You might find a used or rebuilt transfer case for much less, but you will be taking a risk with them. Perhaps it would be good if you talked to a local transmission shop to see what they would charge.
